Snacks – Day 1

Lesson 2

To begin your journey, we are going to start with the category of snacks. Healthy snacks are very important to keep around! Please read this article to equip you with tons of healthy snacks to add to your kitchen!

Snacks make up one-fourth of the daily intake of calories on average. In order to combat this, we have created nine snack recipes for you to reach for instead! Click the following link to access the grid of snacks for today. Admire the options and then please select one recipe that interests you out of the list. This recipe is the first assignment that we will complete for this course. Click into your recipe of choice, view the ingredients and instructions, and consider adding this option to your daily meals.

Congratulations on finishing your first lesson! You now have a delicious cholesterol-lowering snack to incorporate into your daily meals. Cooking for lower cholesterol does not have to be boring or tasteless, there are plenty of incredible recipes that can motivate on your journey to lower cholesterol! Rather than dwell on the items that you are eliminating from your diet, it is important to consider the power ordinary foods have. Stay tuned for the next step in your journey!

The final step for today’s lesson on snacks will be to take this assessment. We’ve chosen just four areas from the American Heart Association’s Suggested Servings for each food group to assess your current diet. The assessment is four short questions asking about the average number of servings you eat of certain food groups. Take your time to think about how you are doing in each area. The primary purpose of this assessment is to show you where you are currently so you can set goals to be successful in each area.
